Berlin, Leipziger Straße. Everyone knows this address, everyone has driven through here at some point. ¬Leipziger Straße ¬is a famous thoroughfare that connects Potsdamer Platz with Spittelmarkt. You could also say that it leads from Bülowbogen to Alexanderplatz. Or, if you want to really think big, Leipziger is the access road to Zentrum Ost. The Federal Council meets along what is perhaps the most important east-west axis. On Fischerinsel, the House of One is being built, perhaps the most important intercultural project of the 21st ¬century. In between, to the south of the Magistrale, rise the eight 23- and 25-storey ¬high-rise residential buildings with their striking loggias, ¬built in pairs. -Opposite, on the north side of Leipziger Straße, its long ¬14-storey counterpart. Behind it stretches the Gendarmenmarkt. No address in Berlin is more Berlin: No place has the same stories or the same perspectives, no address overlooks the city like this one. Depending on which side and at which height of the Leipziger Straße complex you reside, you have a unique panoramic view of the ¬city's most prominent ¬sights, including the Reichstag, the German Cathedral, the Berlin Cathedral, the Red City Hall, the TV Tower ... and the hustle and bustle of the street is far away. The central east-west subway line U2 can be reached in a few minutes walk either at Spittelmarkt or the Stadtmitte stop. There you can also get on the U6, which ¬goes ¬north to Wedding and south ¬to Tempelhof. The A100 can be reached in about 25 minutes.
