Location
Spener Strasse in Berlin's core district of Moabit on the border with Tiergarten runs from Alt-Moabit in the north to Helgoländer Ufer at the southern end.
The location in Moabit, opposite the Hansaviertel, speaks for itself: Within a few minutes you can reach the expansive and wonderfully green main city park, the Tiergarten. Here, you quickly reach the seat of the Federal President in Bellevue Palace, the Spree, and the government district - the Chancellery is only a few hundred meters away, the Bundestag in the former Reichstag building perhaps a kilometer. Students enjoy the proximity to the Technical University, and if you walk down the street, you can see the golden angel atop the Victory Column. You can walk, jog and walk the dog here, to your heart’s content. You'll find a well-stocked organic grocery store as well as cozy pubs and restaurants with a diverse, colorful culinary offering, especially along the S-Bahn arches, around Alt-Moabit and in nearby Turmstraße.
The transport connections are also excellent. You can board the S-Bahn at Bellevue station and travel to Bahnhof Zoo, the main station, Alexanderplatz or Potsdam. The U9 underground line stops at Hansaplatz and there are several bus lines and the M1 streetcar in Alt-Moabit.
